Road Marshalling Wand

Rugged orange day-glow illuminated traffic marshalling wand powered by 2 x C cell batteries with 3 modes of operation supplied with  a sturdy rubber base mat that allows the wand to be used securely on any surface.

The wand has 3 modes of operation:-

• Rapid Flash (10Hz)
• Slow Flash (3Hz) and
• Solid light.

This combination of wand and base allows he wand to be used similarly to a traffic cone but without the weight and bulk. It can be deployed on hard or soft surfaces, its heavy enough to withstand fast moving traffic and the base has three fixing points so that it can be pegged to the ground and even used for aircraft landing operations.

The small base area means that it can be pegged on top of narrow banks or confined areas which has proved extremely useful for marking routes or hazard areas (it has proven popular at festivals and other nighttime venues where lighting up walk ways or hazards can be problematical).

Unlike other traffic wands in our range this wand projects light into a hi-viz orange sleeve, this has less of an impact on night vision yet is still visible at ranges of 1000 metres. Also having fewer electronic componenets is a big factor to its robustness, there's less that can be damaged by high impact drops.

The light sleeve is made of a highly visible 'day-glow' orange plastic which makes it suited for day time operations where the illumination function is not necessary.

With batteries installed this traffic baton weighs 217gms (142gm with out batteries) and has an overall length of 36cms with the day-glow sleeve being 20 cm's long. It has diamter of 11cm which is comfortable in the hand.

The single 0.5w LED which has a life time of aproximately 100k hours and is situated in the handle, it is red in colour and has a reflecting collar which enhances the light output significantly compared to its peers. The sleeve can actually be unscrewed and the handle can be used as a red signalling torch too.

A highly robust unit which has been drop tested onto concrete from 2 metres with no damage, it is made from high impact materials PP, PC & PCBA.

O-ring seals and a large contrasting blue rubber power switch provide all round weather protection and make the marshalling wand easy to use with gloves and at night.
